Life always gets crazy when the leaves start falling off trees – it seems like everyone has a birthday, work needs a thousand things done, and everyone wants to go out for apple picking and hard ciders in October.
Admittedly, I’ve fallen off the health bandwagon these last few weeks but I’m determined to get back on track. As I always say, it’s the little things in life that count so I’ve come up with three must-have additions to a healthier fall morning routine to help transition from summer to fall (and then to winter!).
TRADE-IN YOUR COFFEE FOR TEA
Not that coffee is necessarily unhealthy, but having a cup of green tea just ups your health game by a thousand levels. I try to have a cup first thing in the morning to get a burst of antioxidants and fresh ingredients. Plus, there’s something so refreshing about a fresh cup of green tea. If you’re not much a tea drinker you can also make it iced, which is what I do during the summertime!
TOO COLD TO RUN? TRY MEDITATING
Did you know that meditation has a whole host of health benefits? It is incredibly difficult to get motivated to go outside and work out, especially when it’s below freezing. Meditation or even light yoga is a great way to calm down, reflect on life, and make healthier choices. I like to do 15 minutes of meditation right before I go to bed to help my body decompress and prepare for a good night’s sleep.
TAKE A PROBIOTIC WITH YOU
I don’t know about you but my body takes a turn when we’re transitioning from summer to fall. The cooler weather does a number on everyone so to support your digestive system, heart health & function, energy metabolism and more is to incorporate a probiotic into your morning routine. I keep mine in my little “essentials” bag so I’ll remember to take it with my green tea every morning! Right now I’m using the Nature Made® Probiotics: Nature Made® Advanced Dual Action Probiotic which I picked up for a great everyday low price at my local Walmart! This is a great choice because it has been clinically studied and provides dual support to both your small and large intestine for comprehensive coverage to help support digestive balance and healthy gut flora.†
Nature Made® is the #1 Pharmacist Recommended Brand for many key dietary supplement categories* and has a really wide range of offerings which is perfect because then I can stock up on my favorite vitamins and supplements. And as a bonus, check out Walmart’s Nature Made® website where you can enter one of 60 Walmart gift cards, worth $50 each!
Overall I think I’ve done a pretty successful job at changing up my health routines for fall! I have to say, that cup of green tea in the morning makes a world of difference, you won’t believe you lived a life without it!
