Don’t get me wrong, I love some of my high-end makeup but most of the time it’s nice to do my makeup on the cheap-I’ll always be a bargain shopper, through and through! Some of my all-time favorite brands are an elf, Maybelline, Wet ‘n Wild, and more, they all bring out a range of excellent products that are worth more than their drugstore price point.
So I’ve created three ways to do your makeup for $20, depending on the type of look you like to wear every day it’s not easy but it is possible to do a full face of makeup for under $20. I didn’t include brushes in this, but I recommend elf brushes, they’re around $3 a piece and are superb quality-a powder, eyeshadow & angle brush should suffice for all of these looks.
The Bombshell, $20.23
This is perfect for if you like a little oomph in your makeup. I used the Wet ‘n Wild MegaSlicks Balm Stain in Red-bioactive ($2.99), the Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation for a well-covered, flawless base ($8.24), the elf Contour Palette which doubles up as both a setting powder and a contour shade ($6), and finished it off with a deep black mascara from elf ($3)!
Soft & Glowy, $20
This is my favorite look to wear every day! I used the elf Flawless Finish Foundation for an even, dewy base ($6) and set it with the elf Illuminating Palette ($6). Then I used the elf Long-Lasting Lustrous Eyeshadow, you can pick any of their shades since they’re all shimmery and soft ($3) and one of elf’s Volumizing Mascaras ($3). Then I finished it off with elf’s Tinted Lip Balm in a bright watermelon shade to brighten the look ($2)!
Acne Covering, $20
This is my other go-to look! I used elf’s Acne Fighting Foundation to cover all of my problem areas ($6) and set it with the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation because it’s got coverage combined with a little shimmer so my face won’t look flat after applying such a thick foundation ($5.50). Then I used a little of the Rimmel ScandalEyes Pencil Eyeliner ($4), the elf Volumizing Mascara ($3), and an elf Tinted Lip Balm which is very pigmented ($2).
So one of these is just a little over $20, but I wanted to show that it can be done! And if you can find coupons online or in the Sunday paper, it’s going to make these even less expensive. I recommend shopping at Walmart or Target, that’s where I’ve found the best deals over the years.
And you can check out elf’s website, they have a lot of budget-friendly makeup. Elf is also sold at Target and Walmart, although the selection online is bigger and there are coupons.
I hope you found a tip or two, let me know if you’d like to see more makeup under $20 combinations!
