My shopping habits have done a complete 180 over the past two years – I used to hoard Kohl’s clearance sale finds and my closet had 75+ dresses (picture that in an apartment!) but now I’ve stopped buying just to have a lot of options and switched to a few J.Crew staple pieces that I really love and wear much more often so I get my money’s worth – like a few of the new favorites I just purchased which have turned into my daily fall uniform.
I have to say, it’s a little freeing to donate $375 worth of items from your closet and replace it with a few classic pieces. If nothing else, it’s easier to move now!
I love an outfit like this – not only is it comfortable but it’s appropriate for casual Fridays, brunch, and that early morning coffee run. And how cute is this monogrammed nylon tote bag from Kailey’s Monogram Shop on Etsy? I was looking for something to take on my upcoming NYC trip that was waterproof and had a zipper but didn’t want to fork over $150 for a Longchamp. Good thing I stumbled upon these because the monogram bag is even cuter!
I finally invested in a pair of loafers after I tried these on in the J.Crew Factory store and realized just how comfortable they are. I’m not kidding, these are like walking around in slippers.
And of course, I couldn’t forget the quintessential bow sweater – nothing screams “Kelly” like bows, navy blue, and loafers! This sweater is also available in grey and I’m tempted to snag another color. As I always say, you can never have too many bow sweaters (until you have to move a whole box of them, that is)!
