I’ve never owned business cards – crazy, right? As a go-getter graphic designer, you’d think I had a boss lady set of cards but I never really had a need until I started my full time job. I’ve spent the last few weeks hunting around for internet for a company that could produce a quality card at a budget-friendly price. This isn’t a sponsored post by any means, I just wanted to share my amazing experience ordering my blue, white & white marble (yes, white marble!) Coffee is one of the most iconic parts of American culture. There’s just something about starting your day with a cup of Joe, just the way you like it. I think I can smell coffee in my sleep sometimes, that’s how much I appreciate a good cup! Personally, I make mine with a shot of espresso, 1/2 cup boiling water, two creamers and a sugar – if it sounds intense, that’s because it is! Making my morning coffee (or coffees) is the best part of waking up for me and it’s about to get a little bit better!

Is it just me or does Valentine’s Day come earlier and earlier every year? I feel like Target has had heart shaped decor out since the moment New Years Eve merch got pulled from the shelves! No matter if you’re celebrating Valentine’s or Galentine’s Day this year, I always like to pull out everything and anything that is pink in my closet (which isn’t much, actually!) and this year I’m creating a gorgeous, soft & romantic bun for Valentine’s Day that is so simple you have to try it out!

Secrets to an Organized Desk

If you knew me five years ago, you would not recognize me and my cleaning habits! I used to be one of those people who lived in chaos and claimed there was a method to the madness – but ever since I started living on my own, my entire cleaning philosophy has changed! I can’t live if my desk is the slight bit cluttered now. I do a lot of work from home – blogging included! – so I need to maximize any and all available space for the most organized desk possible. You Must Try This for Valentine’s Day: Rose Gold Eyeshadow

// not sponsored, affiliate links included. Thanks for supporting A Thing of Beauty!

Rose gold and copper are two of my favorite shades of all time. Navy blue and gold take the first spots, of course, but nothing is quite as soft and romantic as rose gold is! With Valentine’s (or Galentine’s, whichever you’re celebrating this year) Day coming up, I get obsessed with rose gold and I always break out my all-time favorite rose gold eyeshadow that I basically wear for all of January and February: Ofra’s Highlighter in Bliss. Now this particular highlighter has been reformulated and repackaged but you can use any rose gold eyeshadow with a good amount of shimmer to complete this gorgeous romantic look!

My 2017 Skincare Routine Has Only Three Products

// not sponsored, affiliate links included. Thanks for supporting A Thing of Beauty!

If you step into my bathroom…you’re basically stepping into a spa! I kindly get sent so many skincare products from brands to try out that I can basically run a spa out of my home. Sometimes that’s a bad thing because my routine is constantly changing but that’s all part of being a blogger. I’ve settled on a really good basic 2017 skincare routine – using only three products and that’s totally okay with me because simplifying it is what’s really going to give me great skin to start this year!

OOTD: The JCrew Downtown Field Jacket

// not sponsored

Right now I’m writing this post, huddled under three layers of blankets with a cup of soup and a giant scarf – you would never guess that just last week it was warm enough to go without a coat in Michigan! So I did what any blogger would do, I grabbed my camera, my latest jacket obsession, and headed outside to enjoy the last of the sun before it goes into hibernation for three months. I picked up the JCrew Downtown Field Jacket on a whim late last year and it definitely turned out to be a staple addition to my wardrobe:

My Number One Purchase of 2016: the JCrew Coin Purse

// not sponsored

I am a certified shop-a-holic. Shopping is my therapy and while that’s not always a good thing…my closet does look really incredible! Before you start judging me (I feel you over there!), I went to art school for a reason, and that’s because I have an obsession with fabrics, colors, textures, color palettes, the whole package. So yes, I may shop a lot but I try to pick pieces that match with my personal aesthetic and I know I will use until they’re basically rags! That doesn’t always work out but I think I hit gold with one of my purchases in 2016, my JCrew Coin Purse in Italian Leather, and I love it so much that I’m crowning it my number one purchase of 2016!

2017 is Not the Year for Resolutions

// not sponsored

– 2 0 1 7 –

It feels like 2016 has flown by. I know that everyone says that, but I’m approaching my reflections on 2016 and resolutions a little bit differently. Yes, it sucked in many ways but for me, it was the year that I graduated from undergrad, I started an amazing full time job in marketing, and saw my life with my friends and family become so much more valuable and precious to me. So when I started making out my resolutions for 2017, I decided to turn my attitude towards this year around and here’s why:
