Here’s Some of the Best Dry Skin Cures
Hey you guys. Let’s get real. Between the polar vortex and my anxiety tendencies, this winter has been HELLA bad for my skin. We’re talking dry skin on my hands, flakes on my face – I even developed eczema for the first time ever. Sadly, there’s no magic dry skin cures out there – you have to find the right mix of products and routines that work for you.
A few words to the wise: there’s a couple of steps you can take in your daily routine to help things along if you’re suffering from really bad skin like I was. First, drink more water. Second, stop taking insanely hot showers. Third, eat less gluten if eczema starts flaring up with no explanation.
So, I’ve been spending a lot of time at my local dermatologist, solving my life’s problems, and I’ve picked up a few tips for non-prescription products that have made a big difference in getting things back to order! Or at least, moisturized.
First of all, if you don’t already have a tub of this at home, go get you some. This is one of those “cure all” products that you can use almost every where on your body – I checked with the doc!
Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm
I think this is technically a men’s skincare line, but this is the only lip balm I will use, now. The natural mint flavor is amazing – it even slightly plumps my lips on top of being the best lip balm I’ve ever used. It lasts for hours on my lips and is a HG status level product for me!
Burt's Bees Hydrating Overnight Mask
If your face is just feeling dry overall, I can’t recommend an overnight mask, enough. Our skin repairs and heals itself while we sleep, and an overnight mask with avocado oil and prebiotics will just help that process along and get your skin glowing and rejuvenated.
