It’s no secret that I love lipsticks, and this deep wine shade from elf is no exception! This is the elf Bordeaux Beauty lipstick from their Studio Moisturizing Lipstick line that retails for $3 and has stolen my heart this winter.
It’s a medium-toned berry shade with a satin finish. This is not overly glossy and can easily be made matte with blotting or applying a bit of setting powder. This lipstick is very versatile: I often wear it as a sheer stain but I love that you can also build it up to an intense look, which is what you see below!
Before the elf Bordeaux Beauty Lipstick
I don’t know if you can tell but there’s something transformative about this shade: my features look sharper and my hair appears darker. A lipstick like this looks lovely paired with a slightly winged eye and lots of mascara and a hint of bronzer!

The only con is that it is a little patchy. To fix that, I either use my finger to rub it in a little or I blot my lips with a tissue. An easy fix but it is a little annoying.
Overall I highly enjoy this formula. It’s creamy and pigmented and comfortable wear. I also like that it comes out a bit softer than it looks in the tube, it’s much more of a bitten berry shade than a deep wine. It’s just a great budget-friendly staple winter lipstick!
