elf Foundation Face-Off: Flawless Finish vs Acne Fighting!

September 8 //  by Kelly Baum

Let the battle begin! I recently purchased two foundations from elf Cosmetics: the Flawless Finish Foundation and the Acne Fighting Foundation.

I actually like both of these but I want to put them to the ultimate test-against each other!

They’re both $6 and from what I’ve heard of other foundations from elf, I didn’t have the highest of expectations going into this. But, I’m pleasantly surprised. I really like the formula on each, which is saying a lot since I’ve had such bad luck with foundations from the drugstore that I just stopped buying them altogether. But trust me, these will turn to give you hope!

Contender #1, the Flawless Finish Foundation

In the photo above you can see a concentrated swatch, a blended out swatch in the middle, and then where I blended it over black eyeliner to see how well it covered it. This had a pretty matte finish and a medium coverage capability. It blended very well but left a lot of my problems areas on my face visible, which definitely wasn’t a flawless finish.

Contender #2, the Acne Fighting Foundation

Same deal, I did a concentrated swatch first, blended it out in the middle, and showed how well it covered black eyeliner. This is definitely more of a full coverage foundation and while it did wear off my actual blemishes throughout the day, it definitely made my redness and acne scars go away! This does have more dewy finish though, so powder is a must.

Here’s a video where I actually demo applying the foundation so you can see exactly how it covers my problem areas. Let’s get up close + personal with my face!

So the winner is…the Acne Fighting Foundation! It just does such a great job with covering my skin and makes it look way more flawless than the Flawless Finish Foundation one does. But, I still use the Flawless Finish Foundation on days when I don’t want to wear as much makeup!I’d love to know what you think, have you tried either of these foundations?

Thanks for reading,

Kelly xoxo
