My Rental Bedroom Makeover

The last box has finally been unpacked and I’m officially moved in! My home for the next few years when I moved in was just four blank gray walls that were in desperate need of a good rental bedroom makeover.

My elegant & budget friendly rental bedroom makeover

I love blue and white bedding and I scored this beautiful medallion print from Lands End years ago! I accented it with my favorite (and budget-friendly) navy blue border pillow shams that I snagged off Amazon.

If you’re looking for some inexpensive, sturdy, spacious nightstands, I highly recommend the Malm series at Ikea! I added a little character to mine by added black cup drawer pulls and laser cut overlays.

And of course, I can’t forget my favorite bedside lamps! These are from Ralph Lauren Home and are probably my favorite Home Goods find, ever.

My Rental Bedroom Makeover
I have an Ikea Vittsjo shelf on one wall that I use mainly to display the prettiest things I own! Most of the accessories are from Target or things I’ve collected while traveling over the years. I really love that I can have one spot to display these, rather than tucking them away into odd spaces in a corner.

No rental bedroom makeover is complete without a comfortable working space! My desk (another Ikea fav) is by the window for maximum light when I’m designing. The best part is definitely my organized Sharpie pen collection!

As far as any bedroom makeovers go, Ikea is always my first stop. Yes, there’s manual labor involved, but the kinds of designs you can get for the price is incredible. And if you end up changing your mind in a few years, you can just paint them and add new hardware and voila, you’ll have a brand new piece!

I literally can not use a tape measure either… my husband does all kinds of fancy bendy things to make it fit perfectly in the space but I’m way more on the “estimate is good enough” side of life… I love the closet! I can’t wait to see it live and in action!

I absolutely LOVE this room and am obsessed with that mirror. So much so that I have decided to buy the mirror and use the wall colour in my foyer. However, the colour of your walls seems soo different from the Valspar online swatch (yours are much more beautiful and jewel-tone like). I know computers can sometimes alter colours so I went to my local retailer here in The Bahamas and got a sample and the sample matches the online swatch, a very sort of dull blue. So I just wanted to double check that you did indeed use Valspar La Fonda Deep Blue on your walls? Perhaps I need to paint one wall and see how it looks.
