Guess who’s been busy? This gal! I moved last week and it’s been…an adventure, to say the least. But, I did have time to whip up this DIY nailhead trim message board today and put it in the perfect spot in my hallway. It’s the little things!
I used a linen fabric for this project and I highly recommend it. I purchased 1.5 yards from JoAnn’s and with a coupon, it came to around $11. All in all, I would say this project cost under $30 to complete.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Two foam core boards
- 1.5 yards of a beige linen fabric
- Nailhead trim (I love the Dritz nailhead trim package that you can get for a good deal here)
- Iron and ironing board (if your fabric is wrinkly)
//Step 1 – iron your fabric if it’s wrinkly. Be sure to get any major creases out.
//Step 2 – tape your two foam cords boards together. If you don’t take the price stickers off, be sure to sandwich them on the inside of the boards, otherwise they’ll be seen!
//Step 3 – lay down your fabric, and then wrap it around the boards like you’re wrapping a present. Pull the edges tightly and secure with several staples.
//Step 4 – apply the nailhead trim about 1-1.5 inches inside the perimeter. Secure every few “nails” with one of the provided pins.
