It’s officially fall in Michigan! The temperature finally dropped to below 70 this weekend and I grabbed the first opportunity to whip out my trench coat and brown riding boots. Yes, I was a little toasty but totally worth it because fall is my favorite time of year. The one thing I don’t like about fall is the season allergies, which is why I laid on my couch for most of Saturday but Sunday I was feeling better to catch my brother’s football game and get out for a little shopping!
Weekend Recap – October 2
// I made french press coffee for the first time with my Sunday morning breakfast and it was incredible. I finally, finally found ground coffee in the donut shop flavor at the supermarket and believe me, there’s no better way to spend a Sunday morning.
// I caved and ordered this Houndstooth Pencil Skirt from J.Crew Factory and I am bursting at the seams until this arrives – now all I need is the perfect black turtleneck sweater and cognac loafers to complete the perfect fall work-casual outfit.
// I decided on a whim to rewatch Grey’s Anatomy for the first time in five years this weekend and let’s be real, my entire weekend was shot as soon as I started the first episode. I forgot how much I loved Izzie and Denny, or Izzie and Alex, or all the medical talk – a needed change from all the lawyer shows I usually watch!
// I baked some lemon blueberry poppy seed muffins Saturday night because sometimes when you just don’t feel well, you want a damn good muffin. Even if it is 8pm at night. So the next time you bake blueberry muffins, seriously consider tossing in some poppy seeds and lemon juice into the batter…you’ll thank me later.
Happy October! xx
