Happy Monday! Raise your hand if you went shopping this weekend…and didn’t have any space in your closet to fit in those new clothes – that was totally me! I walked into my closet after I went Mother’s Day shopping (I caved and bought a few new PJ sets for myself) and realized that I am literally drowning in clothes. So, I cleaned out three big bags of clothes I plan to donate, but I realized that I barely had space for the clothes I had left. I blame my ridiculously tiny closet. So I moved some things around, bought some new space savers and voila, I have an almost brand new closet with just a few simple hacks!

// PUREX® CRYSTALS

Having good-smelling laundry is the first start to maximizing your tiny closet. I chose Purex® Crystals Lavender and Purex® Crystals Fabulously Fresh because these are two of my all-time favorite scents to incorporate into my home! They are a laundry enhancer refreshes my clothes and brings an inviting scent to my closet.

// LED LIGHTING STRIPS

My tiny walk-in closet has an overhead light but it’s small and incredibly yellow. LED lighting strips are inexpensive and so easy to install yourself – just peel off the sticky backing, stick under the biggest shelf in your closet and connect to a power supply for instant bright light that will make your closet look much bigger than it is.

// KEEP ONLY THE BIGGEST ITEMS ON THE FLOOR

I’m guilty of throwing shoes, my “tool bag”, and all these little knick knacks on the floor that absolutely suck up space and make it look cluttered. I bought two large cloth bins and gathered up all of the small items, leaving room for just the big items like luggage and storage boxes on my floor. It truly makes a difference!

// INCORPORATE A DRAWER UNIT

For things like tank tops, makeup, random journals and more, I decided to keep in two small drawer units. These are clutter savers and keep all of my smallest items within a handy reach, but kept well out of sight.

// SWITCH OUT YOUR HANGERS

I used to have this jumbled mess of plastic, wooden and dry cleaner hangers but I decided to make the jump and invest in velvet hangers. It’s a bit of a financial investment (I highly suggest shopping online or at discount retailers for a deal) but switching to velvet hangers makes a world of difference. I’m able to fit in an entire additional section of clothes, now.
