Summer is so close I can almost touch it! I’ve finally started putting away my winter beauty products and I’m so happy to say “adios” to those heavy creams and dark colors and let my skin breathe and soak in the sun. I’m not kidding, Michigan had under 3 days of sun in January – it’s been deep, dark and gloomy and my skin is ready to be freshened up! So I revamped my entire beauty routine over the weekend since it was 60 degrees and gorgeous out, so here’s what my current fresh face beauty routine looks like:
My Spring Fresh Face Beauty Routine
STEP 1 / I’m loving the L’Oreal Extraordinary Clay line. I start with the conditioner (as per my usual reverse routine!) and the a healthy dollop of the shampoo and I have to say, the clay line is very interesting!
STEP 2 / While my hair is still a little damp I use a few spritzes of my L’Oreal Air Dry It Wave Swept Spray – I use this like a texturizing spray before I style it. My favorite tip is to lift up the crown section of my hair and spray a few spritzes of this right at the root and let it dry for a little extra volume while I’m using a hot hair tool.
STEP 3 / Before I start my makeup I like to give my skin a quick wipe, just to make sure no leftover makeup or dirt gets caught in my fresh makeup. Right now I’m using the Yes to Tomatoes Charcoal Face Wipes
STEP 4 / I start my base makeup first and for a fresh face makeup and my no. 1 obsession right now is the L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation. It’s the first time I’ve used a cushion foundation and I’m sold. It literally sinks into my skin, I’ve never had a foundation that was so blendable and glowing before!
STEP 5 / It’s not a fresh face beauty routine without some glow! I’m using the Physicians Formula Bronze Booster and let me tell you, this white highlighter is da bomb.
STEP 6 / I finished off my base with the L’Oreal Infallible Paints which I’m actually really enjoying! I didn’t think I’d be into a liquid lipstick like this but the formula is so luxurious and non-sticky. I’m wearing the shade 312 which is a great every day nude.
STEP 7 / For a fresh face look I don’t like to go heavy on the eyeshadow at all. I’m using the CoverGirl Jewels TruNaked Eyeshadow Palette which has a great selection of rich eyeshadows. I used the matte beige shade all over the lid and put a little of the bright purple in my crease for extra definition and warmth.
STEP 8 / Mascara! I’m using the CoverGirl So Lashy BlastPro mascara which has a great spikey end for reaching those hard-to-reach inner corners.
STEP 9 / I decided to curl my hair with my flat iron so I could get some softer, messier waves to add to my effortless, fresh look. My tip: curl your hair both inwards toward your face and outwards away from your face to add to the effortless look.
I love this look, it’s so lovely and has that effortless air, almost like I woke up like this! I challenge you to revamp your beauty routine for spring because guess what, Meijer is running their Beauty Week Specials on all of these products this week (through March 4) so run to stock up at a good price!
