May 2016 Blog Income and Traffic Report
Hello June, goodbye May! It was a long but profitable month again and I’m so excited to share what went right and what could have been better this month because there’s always room for improvement. As you’ll see from the stats, I’ve had more new visitors this month which I’m happy about. These numbers are good, but I’d still love them to be higher than this. To help me out, my friend was telling me about some online marketing that I could use to get more traffic onto my page. She recommended GotchSEO.com because she’s previously used them. Apparently, they really helped her to get more visitors to her blog, increasing her income. That’s definitely something to keep in mind, especially if I want to start boosting my blog! Anyway, a few people asked me why I did these monthly updates and it’s because when I first started blogging, I didn’t know what the costs were, how long it would take to build an audience, anything like that. Now that I know more about blogging, I can help new people understand more, I can suggest things like this post on paperstreet to them, I can show them my stats so they know if they’re doing everything correctly. I’m obviously not saying that my blog is perfect and I’m sure there will be things I’ll look back on with regret but, for now, I want to help as many people as possible. As always you can check out last month’s report here and see how well I did this month!

As you can see I again surpassed last month’s traffic numbers! I’m so happy with the growth that’s been happening and it’s pushing me to work even harder to create good posts.
One of the questions I get a lot on these posts is “how do you get sponsored posts?”. Unfortunately there’s no exact formula on what sponsors look for when they choose a blog, but here’s some tips:
-Join networks like Izea, Social Fabric, Acorn Influence, Influence Central
-Get your traffic to 5000+ pageviews per month
-Write at least 3 blog posts per week
-Be active across all social media channels
-Have good photography skills
For me personally, I’ve found that a combination of good traffic numbers and quality content attracts sponsors. But remember to write for your readers first and sponsors second, otherwise it’ll be obvious what you’re trying to do. Also, I’ve found that publishing a new post at least three times per week is a good idea so that sponsors can see you’re dedicated, produce a good amount of content, and it keeps content fresh and not just a bunch of sponsored posts.
Leave any suggestions for future income reports and let me know if you want me to break anything down, like media kits, traffic tips, etc!
