Blog Income Report April 2016

Can you believe it’s May? Where did the time fly? April was the craziest month of my life: I participated in a student senior thesis exhibition show, I graduated, and I moved – I can’t believe I made it through the month! And April was a special month for many other reasons: it was A Thing of Beauty’s FIVE year anniversary; I marked my 50th sponsored post; and I crossed $10,000 of revenue in three years. So let’s dive into my traffic and revenue behind the blog last month!

// Blog Income Report April 2016

First, let’s talk about traffic. Here were my stats for March compared to April:

Visits: 2,545 5,167
Unique Visitors: 2,352 4,894
Pageviews: 3,016 5,906

I almost doubled my pageviews in April! This is insane and incredible at the same time because these are numbers A Thing of Beauty has never seen before! I had a post get very popular on Pinterest, my Big List of Cheap Sorority Crafts and Gifts, and it’s been helping to drive a lot of new traffic.

Here’s what I earned:

Sponsored posts: $630
Affiliate links: $1.11

…and here’s what I spent:

Advertising: $30.04
Web hosting: $0
Online courses: $0

Overall profit was up this month! I did quite a few sponsored posts in March that paid out in April, and this is where I earn the bulk of my profits. Affiliate links are incredibly difficult, I’ve found, and I don’t anticipate earning much from them. Also, if you’re wondering, I mainly advertise on Pinterest at the moment and I’ve seen some great ROI! April was a highly successful month by all accounts for A Thing of Beauty and I can’t wait to see what kind of amazing things May has in store. Thanks as always for being a reader!
