Now my days are busy to the max-graduation is (hopefully) right around the corner and it feels like the days are getting shorter while my to-do list is getting longer! So now, more than ever, I’m looking for routines and products that are going to make my day easier while not having to sacrifice anything. And unfortunately hair is on that list because try as I might to not throw it up in a plain ponytail, that’s where it often ends up! So I’ve teamed up with Goody to show you how I style my hair from day to night fast and easy-and without any straighteners or curlers!
// Easy day to night hair tutorial
//Step 1 – Detangle
It’s so important to get all of those knots out before you style your hair-no one likes it when they get a ponytail holder stuck in their hair because they didn’t brush all the knots out! I absolutely love my Goody Detangle It Vent Brush, it does a fantastic job at painlessly getting out those knots and smoothing my hair. Then after I’ve detangled, I’lll smooth some moisturizing creams and oils into the bottom half of my hair for a little nourishment before I start drying and styling.
//Step 2 – Volumize
The key to this tutorial is fast so I do the “two-minute-volumize” combo of my hair dryer plus my Goody Amp It Up Medium Round Brush and literally in two minutes I run the round brush through my roots and ends to give it a little curl, bounce and volume. Make sure you work in small, 1-2 inch sections, or else you might find it a little hard to twist the brush to create some curl!
//Step 3 – The Day Look
Once my hair is 90% dry it’s good to go out the door! But before I do, I take a one-inch section of hair near the front of my hair and twist it a few times for a little added poof and volume, and then pin it with a bobby pin. This is the perfect “day” look because it’s sweet, classy and easy to achieve in under 10 minutes in your morning routine.
//Step 4 – Kick it up a notch
Once it’s time for my evening engagements I notice that my hair definitely needs a pick me up. I like to use my Goody Clean Radiance Oval Cushion Brush which I use to smooth and remove buildup like oils and dandruff that’s accumulated. I love this brush, it has copper tips that allow me to achieve a smooth, crispy finish. Just a few notes about this brush: make sure to use it only on dry hair, don’t use it with a hair dryer (it is copper, after all!), and it’s easy to clean by dipping the bristles in lemon water.
//Step 5 – The Night Look
I pull the section of hair around my crown up and quickly twist and wrap into a small bun, which I secure with a few bobby pins. This is a really popular hairstyle right now and my Goody Clean Radiance Oval Cushion Brush does a fantastic job of smoothing my hair when I go to pull it up.
I found my brushes at Walmart in the hair tools aisle and I’m so pleased that I was able to achieve salon-quality results with such a budget-friendly purchase!
