How to Style a Lob in Under Five Minutes Without Heat

Well I finally jumped on the trend bandwagon for a hairstyle! I’ve been in quite a hair slump for the past year and was desperate for a freshening up. So a few weeks ago I told my hairstylist to do her best and chop six inches off so I could experiment with a “lob”!

If you’re not familiar with the “lob”, it’s basically a long bob that’s very piecey, textured, a little hipster and wavy. Basically it looks like you rolled out of bed but your hair was already cool enough that you didn’t even have to do it.

Before we get into how I style my long bob each morning, here’s a few tips if you’re struggling:

//Don’t brush your hair. This sounds gross, but it takes any natural curl I had out of my hair. This is essential if you’re doing the heatless method. Instead, I brush it out before I wash it if you’re concerned about knots and such.
//You don’t need a whole lot of products. In fact, I found that the more product I used, the more “crunchy” it looked. It was not a good look.
//Your hair has to be barely, barely damp. It needs a little moisture to scrunch, but if it’s too damp then your hair will dry crunchy and wet-looking. Also not a good look.

So here’s how to style a lob in under five minutes and with no heat!

How to Style a Lob in Under Five Minutes and Without Heat

And that’s literally all. I start with slightly damp hair, scrunch it a bit, and then add some hairspray while I scrunch. When it looks tousled enough, I shake it and set it with a light layer of hairspray and it’s done!

Also, in case you’re wondering, I got that massive can of Aussie hairspray from Walmart for under $4. You can use any hairspray you like, but I just like that I got a buttload of hairspray for so cheap.

I hope you found some hair inspiration and if you enjoyed this tutorial on how to style a lob, click that “Pin it” button to save this to your Pinterest board because this is definitely a hair tutorial you’ll want to come back to!

This is definitely much easier on shorter hair, but, you can still try this if you braid your hair when it’s damp and let it dry so you get beautiful waves!

Love that it’s so easy! I used to do this when I was running late to work!

I can’t believe I only cut my hair short and started doing this now, but better late than never!

I definitely need quick in my home! I almost always default to a knot though because of the baby who loves to pull my hair 🙂

This probably won’t be a good idea with a baby around but it’s good if you’re going out and need a quick hair do!

I love this so much! I miss my short hair so much, but my hubby loves it long, so I usually keep it that way!

I alternate all the time between long and short, it depends on how much I care about doing my hair every day 😀

I like this no fuss approach. I have very curly, naturally thick and frizzy hair so when it is looking extra wild I just put a hat on my go to!

I should definitely invest in a few more hats-I’m definitely a no-fuss person when it comes to my hair!

I love Aussie products, they are so great for my hair. I love the look you did, my hair is basically the same length I will have to try it.

Your hair looks awesome. I love that look on you. I pay good money to get rid of my natural curls, so my hair always looks the same 🙂

I wish I had more curl! I feel like I’m always curling my hair, which is why I love that this look is so quick!
