How to Grow Your Blog in 2016
If the design of your blog is looking stale or outdated, it’s time for a facelift in 2016! You can implement a whole new theme, give your logo a fresh look, or work harder on your photography and graphics. If you’re looking for some inspiration, start out with websites like Canva or Creative Market to get the right tools you need to keep up with your brand.
This is one of my big bad blog goals for 2016: grow my social followers. Especially with Instagram, content can reach audiences so easily I would be a fool to neglect it. If there any opportunities to get some free Instagram followers, you should certainly go for it! Social platforms are only continuing to grow and having a large following certainly improves your visibilty and helps you stay relevant. I’ve really been lacking in social media presence and that’s definitely something I want to turn around in 2016. Some of my strategies to achieve this are to start posting daily and consistently as well as to incorporate more pictures.
If you’re posting twice during one week and 14 times the next week, that’s a pretty inconsistent schedule! Strive for consistency across all your platforms: post a new blog post at the same time and during the same days of the week. Then syndicate at the same times on social media.
INVEST IN YOUR BLOG
You have to invest money to make money so invest a little of your earnings back into your business: take a blogging or social media course, invest in monthly ad campaigns, pay for a new blog design. Trust me when I say the little investments can go a long way!
MAKE A PLAN AND STICK TO IT
Draw up a plan month by month and platform by platform. Having specific goals and strategies on how to achieve those goals is key. You can’t just say “I want to achieve 5,000 followers on Twitter” and expect it to happen; write down several strategies and when you need to implement them: “I want to achieve 5,000 followers on Twitter by 2017 by using Tweetdeck to schedule tweets three times per day, at least two with pictures, and one that is a fun non-business related tweet for variety”. <----This is how you should structure all of your goals for every area of your blog that you want to increase. I hope you picked up a few tips and ideas on what you can do to improve your blog in 2016! I plan to roll out a rebrand by mid-January so I'm really excited to get started on my goals and make A Thing of Beauty the best blog I can make it! Thanks for reading, Kelly xoxo
