Stretch those legs!
I do a lot of leg stretches after a workout. I’m very prone to shin splints so this is especially important for me. I stretch my calves, shins, hamstrings, and everything else that could possibly get irritated when I wake up the next day. It’s important to do this for at least 15 minutes.

Get a good ambient playlist! I like to listen to instrumental hip hop while I’m actually working out because I enjoy having a good beat to keep pace to. But post workout? Break out some light, ambient music that will help relax your mind while your body winds down. Here’s a selection of my favorite ambient music:

Get a snack!
These are snack squares from goodnessknows® and come in three flavors:
goodnessknows® Cranberry, Almond, Dark Chocolate
goodnessknows® Apple, Almond & Peanut, Dark Chocolate
goodnessknows® Peach & Cherry, Almond, Dark Chocolate
It’s important to refuel after a workout and replenish some of what you’re worked off. I eat these while I’m doing my stretches and listening to my playlist, it’s a great way to chill for 20 minutes and take a break from a good workout session!
I found these at Walmart near the cash registers (mine were towards the bottom so you might have to hunt for them), but I was lucky enough to get to try one at an in store demo! If you’re interested, here’s a coupon, too!

Fall is my favorite time to run outdoors too! These are great tips! I like to reward myself after a great run and what a better way to do than snack squares! (client)
Same! I’m going to get sad when it snows and I can’t run outdoors, anymore!
