So I’ve started seeing a lot of really awesome Halloween costumes around in the stores which gets me really excited because Halloween is one of my favorite holidays-not because of the costumes mainly, but because of the makeup! But one of the things I’ve been struggling with the past few years is finding a good makeup look that I can wear to work, school, and of course, to the party! So I came up with this gorgeous “universal cat eye” that was very easy to create but is guaranteed to be a look that you can wear anywhere, and with any costume! For this tutorial I’m using all Maybelline products so if you see a product or two that you like, definitely pick it up for your Halloween look. Here’s how to create Halloween makeup for any costume!
The focus of this look is the eyes-Halloween always equals drama to me so I decided to ditch the false lashes and use the Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara in Blackest Black
. I did a quick comparison to a pair of false lashes so you can see the difference-I can never get the band of false lashes to stick in the inner corner of my eye so of course, it’s sticking out and my eye is drooping because the glue was not so awesome. Definitely not as good of a look or as volumizing as a coat of Push Up Drama!
A little background on the Push Up Drama Mascara (since it is brand new), it’s the first mascara that gives your lashes a 45 degree lift, and it has cup-shaped bristles to scoop up lashes at the roots and glide up for a pretty instantaneous change. If you want to give this a go, there’s also a $3 off coupon in this week’s (10/4) Sunday paper-I totally snagged this one!
Here’s all the products I used for today’s look:
-Baby Lips in Cherry Me, Pink Punch, Peach Kiss
-Dream Lumi Touche Concealer
-Baby Skin Instant Cheek Flush in Pop of Peach
–The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara
-Dream Wonder Fluid-Touch Foundation
-Color Tattoo Metal in Barely Branded
–Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara in Soft Brown
-Color Tattoo Leather in Dramatic Black
-Single Eyeshadow in Pink Wink
Here’s how to recreate this look!
Basically you just follow across the rows, left to right. This didn’t take me more than 15 minutes and I provided three different lippies you can wear so you can see which would work best for your costume!
This is a cat eye look and my number one tip, which I showed above, is to angle your eyeliner brush so it follows the angle of your lower lash line, and then softly stamp so you can check and make sure the angle is right, and then fill it in!
I really love a look like this, it would go well with any costume: princess, witch, pirate, etc., and is perfect if you’re not one to get adventurous with makeup but still want to do something special for the holiday!
I grabbed all of my products at Walmart, where you can also buy a costume while you’re at it!
I’d love to know, what are you dressing up for Halloween as? Will you be checking out this new Maybelline mascara?
