I’m looking at you girlfriend-we all take hours to pack because we might need that outfit, but those shoes don’t go with that shirt and that dress is going to get too wrinkly in your suitcase. Today I’m going to show you how I pack for summer trips in under 15 minutes-every time I travel now I stick to this strict, no mess formula and it truly does take me no time at all. Obviously if you’re going for a longer trip you might want to multiply my formula by two or three but for short trips, this will definitely help you to pack lighter and more efficiently!
There is a method to the madness, people! My rule of thumb is that for every 3 days I’m gone, I take two dresses and one full outfit. Why dresses? They’re easier to pack and I need one article of clothing versus a pant + a short. I’m strategic abut the ones I pick: I look for dresses that can be casual or dressy depending on how I style them. I don’t know how many of you take vacations for the Queen of England so I’m guessing you don’t dress too dressy on your time off! I save one outfit of shorts + a cute top for when I go sightseeing or the day of the travels back home.
Toiletries are easy-I just do a quick sweep of the bathroom to grab my toothbrush, toothpaste, etc. It’s the beauty products that get me. I limit myself to five products:
-BB cream with SPF
-Cream eyeshadow (no creasing!)
-Bright lip pencil
-Primer (no need for shine!)
If I realllllly need another beauty product (like my mascara somehow got thrown out the car window and flew away) I can always stop and buy a new one. But keeping my beauty count down means that I’m not taking 7 lipsticks I don’t need and keeps my luggage light!
Last but not least, I throw my ZTE ZMAX in the front pocket of my favorite canvas tote because I only need to bring it and I have entertainment for the whole trip-the ultimate tip for packing light! I’m on the Walmart Family Mobile service so I can enjoy streaming videos + music on the ride on the unlimited talk, text + data plan that includes up to 1 GB of 4G LTE data (first line is $29.88 per month). If the ZTE ZMAX isn’t your thing (it’s a big phone!), here’s some other phones you can pick from at Walmart:
