Check out my new makeup collection & chic storage!

Storage1
In case you guys haven’t seen my updates on the internets lately, I moved! My lease ended on my apartment near school so I moved out and I decided I was long overdue for a makeup storage update. I used to keep everything in an ugly cabinet and that just wasn’t going to work anymore so I took a trip to Ikea, spent a day building things (all by myself!) and voila, I have a brand new chic setup! These are the Helmer units from Ikea that are $39 each, and then I bought a white shelf for $8 from my local hardware store and secured it with some 3M foam sticker tabs to keep everything in place. I’m so happy with it overall, so read on to see what I keep in the drawers!

Storage2
Drawer 1: Eyes Part I
This is where everything that goes on my eyes and isn’t a powder eyeshadow goes. Cream shadows, bases, brows, eyeliners, and mineral eyeshadows are way in the back.

Storage3
Drawer 2: Eyes Part II
Powder eyeshadows. I’ve honestly just arranged these by round packaging, square packaging, and palettes. Makes it a lot easier to fit everything in this way!

Storage4
Drawer 3: Face
I cannot believe that I fit all my blushes in here. I don’t have a ton of room to grow in this drawer, but I probably shouldn’t be buying any more blushes!

Storage5
Drawer 4: Lippies
I love this drawer. I can stand my lipsticks up and I have everything separated by lipgloss, balm, stick product, etc. And I love that I have room to add a third organizer if I need to!

Storage6
Drawer 5: Skincare
This is the skincare overflow that didn’t fit in my bathroom, so face masks, my daily moisturizer, and other miscellaneous bits.

Storage7
Drawer 6: Nail polish
This is filled. Kind of sad, but I have a new rule: for every new nail polish I buy, I have to get rid of an old bottle!

The other side has all of my art/design supplies so that’s not very exciting to show. The drawer inserts I used are the Antonius Basket Inserts from Ikea that are $3 each. I actually got the idea for this from The Glamorous Gleam blog! Now these inserts don’t fit perfect in the Helmer, if they were literally just 3mm wider than they would fit perfectly so it’s a bit of a struggle. But…it works! And lastly, the lip organizer inserts are from Amazon and they’re only $4.99 each-what a steal! Click here to buy them online.

So thanks for checking out my new makeup collection setup! I’m absolutely in love with it, it’s by far my best idea of 2015!

Thanks for reading,
Kelly xoxo

It looks really good. I’m moving in a few months and I definitely want to address the issue of makeup storage because everything is a MESS right now.

I highly recommend checking out this setup if you’re moving! It was under $100 total and it’s SO much easier to move when you have drawers like this to put things away in!

Your makeup setup look really lovely. It is so enjoyable to see and have everything organised and you seem to have lots of room for storage now. I like how you’ve got a rule for you nail polishes, I think I should adopt that rule too!
