Makeup Collection & Storage/Organization 2014

Makeup Collection and Storage 2014

First of all I apologize for the slightly off-kilter pictures, this cabinet is huge so I tried to back up to get the whole thing in a picture! I haven’t updated my makeup storage post in a long time and since I recently got this cabinet I thought it was the perfect time to share.

This is the Closetmaid 2 Door Organizer in Dark Cherry that I picked up from Target (on clearance for $17!) but it’s online for $34.99 still. I highly recommend if you’re interested in this to sign up for eBates as well so you can get 2.5% cash back on it!

I did have to build it but it honestly wasn’t that bad and I am not a builder. I don’t have any issues with breaking parts or not fitting together correctly event after storing things in it. It’s a little large, but it’s a full cabinet and I can’t complain since I wanted the storage space. Here’s how I organize my makeup/skincare in and around it!

So on top I store my pencils & mascaras in two Pink Zebra sprinkles jars that I had leftover but I need to invest in bigger cups! I also plan to store my palettes in the center and in the cute box on the right, various beauty tools.

When you open it up, here’s what you see! It comes with two shelves and I like how I was able to install them up top so I could have plenty of room to see all of my nail polishes lined up below without having to have a shelf in the way. I’m proud to say this is almost all of my makeup and skincare. I have a small bit more skincare sitting on my bathroom counter top but for now, this is good.

Here’s a side shot so you can see that I’m able to store about 1.5 rows of bins. It’s a bit of a jigsaw puzzle, but it works!

Here’s a few different ways I store my products. I bought a bunch of the white bins from Walmart in packs of 3 years ago and everything else is a hodge podge of boxes and acrylic containers.

And finally, the last shelf. It’s so beautiful how everything is lined up! I really like the amount that I’m able to fit and see clearly.

All in all I’m really happy with this storage. There’s doors so everything is hidden away most of the time and I’m able to organize everything in little slide out bins like I wanted. I’d love to know what you think-do you like it? Or how do you organize your makeup? Let me know in the comments below!

Thanks for reading,

  1. I am still working on storing my makeup, I think I might go with one of those popular towers from Ikea and maybe some more acrylic trays for my desk. I have that same Natural Palette by Too Faced (in the old packaging) and it’s one of my most used / loved :)

    1. I wanted to get the ikea ones but they’re pretty out of my budget. I got this unit on clearance for only $15 so that’s why it’s gonna be around for a looooooong time :D
